Feedback from consultation events

Thank you to those of you who attended the consultation events for the Rayners Lane Station car park site. The consultation process is still open, and we invite you to continue offering your feedback on the proposals through this website.

We recognise that a substantial number of comments focus on the safety aspect of improving infrastructure for cyclists. We want to encourage an increase in cycling around Rayners Lane and will therefore take those comments on board going forward. We are still working with our transport consultants to make this as safe as possible.

We will also take on board comments regarding car parking and transport. Private car ownership and usage is in decline in cities, but we recognise the need for homes with appropriate amounts of car parking for commuters. As a result, we will be keeping some parking spaces for station users.

TfL also have a wider ambition to encourage more people to walk, cycle and take public transport – helping to solve the challenges of climate change, poor air quality and inactivity. While it is important that the development proposals retain some commuter parking, there is the opportunity at these sites to encourage a shift to more sustainable modes of public transport.

We understand concerns about local services and amenities. There will be further discussions with the London Borough of Harrow throughout the design development process

We want to redevelop Rayners Lane Station car park to provide 135 new 100% affordable homes on public land, in locations with excellent transport links, that are much needed due to London’s housing crisis.
